RED FILLY ABSTRACTED BAY HORSE
Another small abstract, using holbein acrylics... Love the colors and the creamy texture of that brand... Inspiration for this one was my mare, Shelby...She will be turning 28 yrs old this coming March and is living a happy retired life at a private barn in the area...As a youngster, she was a shiny read with a striking black mane and tail...

FIGURATIVE ABSTRACTS in ACRYLICS
Sometimes you feel like painting just for yourself and not for anyone else...You paint because you feel the need to create and transform the blank canvas into something that speaks to you. Those sessions in the studio are truly special and a part of you is left behind on the canvas.
There has been so much negativity and unease around me in the past few weeks and that mood carries into this painting. There is also hope for a better tomorrow.....
This painting has many thin layers with areas of texture. A semi-gloss gives this piece an amazing sense of depth.
These two 5x7 originals are actually Christmas cards for my family and friends. They are painted in acrylics on gessoed paper. The final product is varnished with semi-gloss for a 3-D look. Once the holidays are over, these little paintings will look FABULOUS matted and framed.

FUN WITH CHRISTMAS CARDS
I decided to have some fun with Christmas cards this year. These are done in acrylics on gessoed paper and are varnished with semi gloss which gives it a 3-D look....
These little beauties also look great with a white mat and framed...hint...hint...Mom, Sis and bro...Don't throw them out after the holidays!

COW SERIES IN THE MAKING
Here is the second painting in my "Prevailing Atmosphere" series... I am not sure that I am 100% happy with the name of this series - must sleep and ponder that some more. I am working on this series for my solo exhibition, which will be held in March at the Focal Point Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC.
The background is highly textured, which gives an interesting feel to the overall painting!

COW ON TEXTURED BACKGROUND - SOLD
I took a slightly different approach with this oil painting. I first started with a textured acrylic background... Once dry, I proceeded working on the cow with oils. As always - it pays to try different things - I really like the end result! This one would make a great Christmas for a true cow connoisseur...

PALETTE KNIFE BRIGHT FLORAL BOUQUET PAINTING by OLGA WAGNER
Here is one to pacify my family...They are always pushing me towards florals...I started this one few months back - last night I added a few more finishing touches and Voila!
Even though it is painted on a gallery wrap style canvas and can be hung unframed, I think it does look better framed...
